We require a qualified individual to teach in the Nursing family of programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registered Nurse with PhD in Nursing
• Current and active Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current/recent experience in a variety of nursing settings with an expertise in seniors care
• Three to five years of teaching experience
• Knowledge of BScN curriculum is considered an asset
• Knowledge and experience using a Learning Management System (i.e. D2L)
• Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the senior academic officer of the College or designate, a Professor is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. This includes:
• Design/revision/updating of courses, including course objectives and learning approaches.
• Teaching of assigned courses, including regularly scheduled instruction, counselling of students, and evaluation.
• Provision of academic leadership, including participation in the work of curriculum and other consultative committees as requested.
• In addition, the Professor may, from time to time, be called upon to contribute to other areas ancillary to the role of Professor, such as student recruitment and selection, time-tabling, facility design, professional development, student employment, and control of supplies and equipment.
