Course Description
This course will assist Nurse Practitioners to prepare and build confidence for participation in an OSCE (Objective Standardized Comprehensive Evaluation). Participants will learn how to effectively demonstrate and communicate their ability to conduct a focused history and physical examination, make a diagnosis, and communicate a therapeutic plan of care. Participants will learn strategies to enhance their ability to function effectively under conditions that may cause anxiety and stress. Significant time will be devoted to the opportunity to observe and experience simulated OSCEs.

The course will be offered in a hybrid format, with preparatory material offered on-line prior to a one day on-site course focused on application of learning and OSCE simulations. On-line resources will include short modules on what to expect in an OSCE, conducting focused health histories and physical examinations, as well as additional video and written resources.

Audience
Nurse Practitioners who wish to improve their knowledge and skill for participation in an OSCE.

Endorsement
We are pleased to have worked in collaboration with the Nurse Practitioners Association of Ontario (NPAO) in the development of this program.
