Sally DampierDr. Sally Dampier RN, BScN, RSCN, SCM, MMedSc(N), DNP, is a faculty member at Confederation College in Thunder Bay. She teaches in the Lakehead University / Confederation College BScN program. Sally began her nursing career in 1972 in Canada before heading off to Scotland to study Midwifery, staying nearly 27 years. In Britain she continued her studies in children’s nursing. Her clinical work has mainly been in Children’s Intensive Care and Emergency. Her teaching and research interests include children’s nursing, law and ethics, community, scholarship & leadership and telehealth. Email

Priya HernePriya Herne, RN, BScN, CNCC(C) is a nursing practice leader at Toronto East General Hospital supporting the Nursing Resource Team and Student Programs. She has worked in a variety of roles at Toronto East General Hospital including as a staff nurse in the ICU as well as education roles such as the patient education specialist (internship), end of life care fellow, and project lead for team based interprofessional model of care. Priya is also currently working with Centennial College as a paramedic student clinical instructor.

Professional Life
Brenda has been working in Critical Care Nursing for over 20 years. She has worked as a Staff Nurse and Educator in Critical Care as well as in Corporate Nursing as a Professional Development Leader at University Health Network (UHN). Brenda is currently working as a Critical Care Educator for the CICU at Toronto General Hospital (UHN). Brenda is completing her Masters in Education focusing her thesis research on Horizontal Violence in Nursing-from a Leadership Perspective. Brenda is also involved in academic activities as a part time educator for the Humber College Coronary Care Certificate Program and as an Instructor for the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Certification Program for Cardiovascular Nursing on Non-surgical coronary interventions at UHN. Benda is also a member of the CCCN Ontario Chapter as Educational Standards Leader. She is new to the PNEIG executive and excited to be a part of this dynamic group. Email

Marianne CochraneMarianne Cochrane, RN, BAS, MHSc(N), is currently full-time faculty, teaching at Durham College in the Collaborative BScN Program with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, Ontario since 2003. Prior to joining the College, she worked in the positions of Clinical Nurse, Resource Nurse, Program Leader, and Clinical Leader. She has served in her local RNAO Chapter in the positions of membership, treasurer, and President before being elected for two terms of office on the Board of Directors of RNAO in the capacity of Region 8 Representative. She served as President/Chair of PNEIG from April 2005 to April 2008. She serves as Interest Group Representative to the RNAO Board of Directors, completing her second term of office in this role as of April 2016. She has worked for 20+ years in Maternity and Neonatal Intensive Care and now enjoys sharing her nursing experiences with students as they develop themselves to become critical thinkers and caring nurses in their chosen profession.

She is responsible for coordinating student placements, onboarding new staff and coordinating staff development within the Health Unit. She is a member of the SPEP network through Public Health Ontario and is a past SPEP Coordinator. The SPEP Network supports health units in providing student placement experiences. She has participated in the development of the Nursing Mentorship Resource Guide and the Transition to Public Health Nursing Resource through ANDSOOHA (Public Health Nursing Management in Ontario).
