I joined this interest group last fall but, have not received any correspondence about events, meetings ,etc. How do I get connected and involved?

Thanks for your interest in the Provincial Nurse Educators’ Interest Group and your comment on the website.

Currently, we are in the rebuilding stages and the 2011/2012 executive committee’s efforts include a member survey for our membership last spring, support for CNA certification process for nurse educators, and the rebuilding of our website to date. We are still short a few members and so we have not yet been able to relaunch the newsletter but plan to shortly. We hope to continue our momentum in 2012 with additional resources on the website as well as more events (sponsored by PNEIG or advertised with support of PNEIG through the website).

Upcoming events

• The executive team is meeting on Saturday, March 3rd at RNAO head office. If you (or another PNEIG member) would like to help with one of our current vacant positions or positions that could use more support, please let us know.
o Newsletter
o Regional representation
o Ad hoc membership for special events/projects

• We will also be meeting at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, April 28th for a breakfast meeting open to all PNEIG members. More details will be on the PNEIG site shortly.

• PNEIG also has funds to sponsor a nursing education event in your region. If you are interested in organizing an event, please let us know so we can forward details about this program and eligibility criteria.

We are always looking for enthusiastic nursing education professionals to get more involved in PNEIG!
Looking forward to hearing from you and any other PNEIG members who would love to get more involved!
Have a great day!

I am a nursing practice lead in our health unit, and working with our staff development coordinator, we provide support for nursing students and preceptors as well as new staff. Is there someone I can speak to about making contact with our provincial network? We aren’t in academia per se, but we have similar needs.

Just a thought

We would welcome you into Provincial Nurse Educators Interest Group. It is a group for all educators in nursing so your interests are certainly similar to those of many of our members.
I bring to your attention our annual meeting on Saturday May 3, during the RNAO Annual General Meeting. We meet at 8:30 on the Saturday morning as a group and would welcome you to attend.
I will be putting up an announcement shortly.

I am a member and am pursuind my PhD. I was wondering if The Provincial Nurse Educators Interest Group (PNEIG) Research Award $5,000 or education award $5,000 is still available to apply to?
Thanks so much,
