The CASN Task Force on Nursing Informatics is gathering information around existing teaching and learning resources in nursing informatics. In particular, they are focusing on resources that faculty could use for teaching nursing informatics in their undergraduate curricula. They are contacting three stakeholder groups to complete the survey: CASN members, nursing students and clinical nurse educators employed by health care organizations,(e.g., hospitals, community care, etc.)

The following message is for Clinical Nurse Educators:
They have asked PNEIG to contact members in order to seek out four clinical nurse educators employed by Ontario health care organizations – not schools of nursing – who have taught some component of nursing informatics in their workplace to complete a survey. “Nursing informatics” might include any of the following components: computer skills, information management, database development and management, information literacy, teleconferencing, information and communications technologies (ICT), webinars, electronic health record, social media technology, e-health, information privacy, etc.

Given the timeframe, please contact Marian Pitters at marian@pittersassociates.ca by Friday October 21st, if you are interested and able to complete their survey.

Thanks,
Marianne Cochrane, Chair, PNEIG
