0.8 Full-Time (4 days/week)

Reporting to the Quality and Risk Manager, the Education and Infection Control Practice Leader works as a member of the management team to provide management, leadership, and clinical expertise to ensure the delivery of excellent, safe patient care in a fiscally responsible manner. The Education and Infection Control Practice Leader will be responsible for the following programs: the Ministry of Health New Graduate Guarantee and Late Career programs, Infection Prevention and Control and any other programs as they relate to Infection Control and Clinical Education.

Responsibilities Include:
Planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive clinical staff education and development program
Completing probationary and performance appraisals consistent with Health Centre policies and procedures
Providing direct management and supervision to the New Graduate Guarantee program and the Late Career Initiative and providing feedback and direction to staff as appropriate
Providing leadership and ongoing management of the Infection Prevention and Control program, including education and consultation to all Health Centre staff regarding procedures and processes and investigating, monitoring and managing all aspects of patient related infections
Accountability of making optimal use of available funding, prepare and monitor budget and anticipate operational and capital requirements
Creating and supporting a healthy and safe work environment by addressing hazardous conditions as soon as identified and holding staff accountable to adhere to safe practices as per policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current Infection Prevention and Control certification or willingness to obtain
Current membership with Infection Prevention and Control Canada
Minimum five years supervisory experience in an acute care hospital
Minimum three years clinical experience in an acute care setting
Demonstrated strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite
